Cypress Creek Cougar Band

The Cypress Creek Cougar Band is a group of dedicated directors and student musicians who share a love for music. Since 1978, the band has focused supporting students as they learn, gain confidence, and have fun sharing music. Led by directors Kevin Wood, Aaron Kennell, and Christian Pitre, the program works hard to support every student’s growth.

Located at Cypress Creek High School in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, the Cougar Band gives students the opportunities to learn, perform, and grow as musicians and individuals. The program focuses on teaching musicianship, discipline, teamwork, and community involvement through a well-rounded music education. From halftime shows to concerts and competitions, the students put in the effort and show their talent all year long.

The Cypress Creek band's success wouldn’t be possible without the incredible support of sponsors, parents, alumni, and volunteers. Sponsors play a vital role by providing financial support and resources, while volunteers help organizing events, serving meals, chaperone, and creating a positive environment for students to thrive and make memories.

The Cypress Creek Cougar Band is proud of its traditions and looks forward to a bright future with new opportunities to grow and connect through music.

Cypress Creek Color Guard

The Cypress Creek Color Guard brings music to life through movement and visual performance. Under the direction of Madalyn Brown, the team combines dance, choreography, and the use of flags, sabers, and mock rifles to create dynamic shows alongside the Cougar Band during the marching season.

Color Guard is more than just part of the marching band, it also has its own competitive season during the winter. During the Winter Guard season, the team performs in color guard-only competitions, showcasing creativity, precision, and teamwork in a different setting than the marching field.

Through these experiences, students learn new skills, build confidence, and express themselves through movement and performance. They work hard, support each other, and have fun while creating memorable shows for audiences throughout the year.

With a foundation of tradition and a focus on progress, the Cypress Creek Color Guard looks forward to continuing to inspire and innovate through the art of performance.
